The role of SMEs in economic development

SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) play an important role in economic development in many ways. Here are some of their main roles:

SMEs can play an important role in promoting exports and international trade. They can be flexible and adaptable to markets in other countries, thus helping to expand a country’s export opportunities and contributing to economic growth.
